High-Purity TNF Family Proteins & Receptors
BioCrest Sci provides 175 high-purity recombinant TNF superfamily proteins and receptors — TNF-α, TRAIL, RANKL, FASL, and their receptors — for apoptosis, inflammation, and immuno-oncology research. Purity greater than 90% by SDS-PAGE.
What Is the TNF Superfamily?
The tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily comprises 19 ligands and 29 receptors that regulate cell death, survival, differentiation, and immune responses. TNF ligands are type II transmembrane proteins that can be cleaved into soluble cytokines; receptors are type I transmembrane proteins containing cysteine-rich domains.
Key Members and Research Applications
TNF-α and TNFR1/TNFR2
TNF-α is the prototypic pro-inflammatory cytokine — a validated drug target (infliximab, adalimumab, etanercept) in rheumatoid arthritis and IBD. Recombinant TNF-α is essential for inflammation assays, NF-κB signaling studies, and inhibitor screening.
TRAIL and Death Receptors
TRAIL (TNFSF10) induces apoptosis selectively in tumor cells via DR4/DR5, sparing normal cells — the basis of numerous oncology drug programs. Recombinant TRAIL is widely used in apoptosis assays and combination therapy research.
RANKL/RANK/OPG
RANKL drives osteoclast differentiation; denosumab (anti-RANKL) treats osteoporosis and bone metastases. Recombinant RANKL and RANK are core reagents in bone biology research.
Other Key Members
FASL (CD95L), CD40L, OX40L, 4-1BBL, BAFF, and APRIL complete the family — each with dedicated roles in immune regulation and cancer immunotherapy.
