Function
Functions as a cytokine that binds to IL31RA, a membrane-bound signal-transducing subunit of the IL31 receptor complex (heterodimer composed of OSMR and IL31RA). Functionally, IL31 signaling via OSMR/IL31RA is particularly important in skin immunity. Mechanistically, ligand binding to IL31RA, induces heterodimerization with OSMR, activating JAK1 and JAK2 (and to a lesser extent TYK2) associated with the intracellular domains of IL31RA and OSMR.

Biological Activity: Assay #1: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by the dose- dependent stimulation of the proliferation of murine NFS-60 cells is less than 5.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >2x105 IU/mg. Assay #2: The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using human TF-1 cells is less than 0.05 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >2.0x107 IU/mg.
Storage: Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Shipping & Lead Time: Availability, shipping conditions, and estimated lead time are confirmed in the formal quotation or order confirmation based on the product format, destination, and order requirements.
