Transcription factor, which stabilizes the noninflammatory phenotype of regulatory T cells (Tregs). Therefore plays a crucial role in self-tolerance. May possibly act via STAT5-mediated signaling.

Tissue Specificity: Expressed in outer hair cells (OHC) of the organ of Corti. Abundant in thymus, low expression in bone marrow and brain and no detectable expression in spleen, liver, kidney or muscle. Expressed in T-cells. In Tregs, expressed in 2 specific lineages: FoxP3(+)CD4(+) and Ly49(+)CD8(+)
