Research AreasCancer

Function

Is the primary target of the first-line antitubercular drug isoniazid (INH) and of the second-line drug ethionamide (ETH). Overexpressed inhA confers INH and ETH resistance to M.tuberculosis. The mechanism of isoniazid action against InhA is covalent attachment of the activated form of the drug to the nicotinamide ring of NAD and binding of the INH-NAD adduct to the active site of InhA.

Biological Context

Pathway: Lipid metabolism; mycolic acid biosynthesis

Product Specifications

Recombinant Mycobacterium tuberculosis Enoyl-[acyl-carrier-protein] reductase [NADH] (inhA) is a recombinant protein from Mycobacterium tuberculosis (strain CDC 1551 / Oshkosh), expressed in E.coli, covering amino acids 1-269aa, with N-terminal 6xHis-tagged tag, molecular weight 32.6kDa, purity Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.. Suitable for ELISA and Western Blot applications.

SDS-PAGE: Single band at expected molecular weight confirming purity.

ELISA: Suitable as coating antigen or detection standard.

Western Blot: Compatible with standard Western Blot protocols.

Protein Interaction: Validated for SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) and BLI (Bio-Layer Interferometry) studies.
