Function
Voltage- and pH-dependent, inwardly rectifying cation channel that mediates ion flux across the Golgi membrane, supporting luminal acidification necessary for normal Golgi morphology and function. Implicated in normal touch sensitivity through the generation of mechanically activated currents. Could also be involved in cell mechanosensitivity regulating cell adhesion and migration.
Biological Context
Subcellular Location: Cell membrane (Multi-pass membrane protein); Cell projection, ruffle
