Function

An ATP-dependent DNA helicase which unwinds DNA in a 3'-5' direction. ATPase activity is stimulated by single-stranded (ss)DNA but only very poorly by double-stranded (ds)DNA. Binds to and unwinds a wide variety of substrates including 3- and 4-way junctions (including Holliday junctions, HJ), flayed duplexes, 5'- and 3'-overhangs and blunt end duplexes.

Product Specifications

Recombinant Escherichia coli ATP-dependent DNA helicase recQ (recQ), partial is a recombinant protein from Escherichia coli (strain K12), expressed in E.coli, covering amino acids 2-606aa, with N-terminal 6xHis-tagged tag, molecular weight 71.9kDa, purity Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.. Suitable for ELISA and Western Blot applications.

SDS-PAGE: Single band at expected molecular weight confirming purity.

ELISA: Suitable as coating antigen or detection standard.

Western Blot: Compatible with standard Western Blot protocols.

Protein Interaction: Validated for SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) and BLI (Bio-Layer Interferometry) studies.

Shipping: Shipped at ambient temperature. Lyophilized protein is stable during transit.

Storage: Store lyophilized protein at -20°C to -80°C. Reconstituted protein should be aliquoted and stored at -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Function

An ATP-dependent DNA helicase which unwinds DNA in a 3'-5' direction (PubMed:12771204, PubMed:16084389, PubMed:2164680, PubMed:9553043). ATPase activity is stimulated by single-stranded (ss)DNA but only very poorly by double-stranded (ds)DNA (PubMed:2164680). Binds to and unwinds a wide variety of substrates including 3- and 4-way junctions (including Holliday junctions, HJ), flayed duplexes, 5'- and 3'-overhangs and blunt end duplexes (PubMed:19151156, PubMed:9553043, PubMed:22722926). HJ DNA unwinding is stimulated by single-stranded binding protein (SSB) (PubMed:22722926). Unwinds G-quadruplex DNA (PubMed:11292849, PubMed:23657261). Unlike yeast SGS1 or human BLM, is equally active on dsDNA versus G-quadruplex substrates (PubMed:11292849). Can act as an initiator during homologous recombination; unwinds a linear dsDNA substrate which can be used by RecA to initiate homologous DNA pairing as well as dissociation (PubMed:9553043). The identity of a few residues in the C-terminal HRDC domain influences the type of DNA substrate bound (PubMed:16084389). Involved in the RecF recombination pathway (PubMed:2993821)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I order or inquire about this product?

Fill out the Online Inquiry form with your required quantity and specifications. You can also email sales@biocrestsci.com. Our team typically responds within 4 business hours with a quote and availability confirmation.

What is the shipping and delivery time?

Orders placed before 2 PM EST ship the same day. Domestic (US) delivery typically takes 2-3 business days. International orders deliver within 5-10 business days. All products are shipped at ambient temperature with appropriate packaging to ensure stability.

How should I store this recombinant protein?

Lyophilized proteins should be stored at -20°C to -80°C upon receipt. After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Shelf life is 12 months from date of receipt when stored as recommended.

What quality controls are performed on your products?

Each product undergoes SDS-PAGE purity analysis (typically >85-95%), endotoxin testing, and bioactivity validation. Products are validated for ELISA, Western Blot, and SPR/BLI applications as specified on this product page. A Certificate of Analysis (CoA) is available upon request.
