Function

Cell membrane receptor of natural killer/NK cells that is activated by binding of extracellular ligands including BAG6 and NCR3LG1. Stimulates NK cells cytotoxicity toward neighboring cells producing these ligands. It controls, for instance, NK cells cytotoxicity against tumor cells.

Biological Context

Subcellular Location: Cell membrane (Single-pass type I membrane protein)
Tissue Specificity: Selectively expressed by all resting and activated NK cells and weakly expressed in spleen

Product Specifications

Recombinant Human Natural cytotoxicity triggering receptor 3 (NCR3), partial (Active) is a recombinant protein from Homo sapiens (Human), expressed in Mammalian cell, covering amino acids 19-135aa, with C-terminal hFc1-tagged tag, molecular weight 41.8kDa, purity Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.. Suitable for ELISA and Western Blot applications.

SDS-PAGE: Single band at expected molecular weight confirming purity.

ELISA: Suitable as coating antigen or detection standard.

Western Blot: Compatible with standard Western Blot protocols.

Protein Interaction: Validated for SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance) and BLI (Bio-Layer Interferometry) studies.

Shipping: Shipped at ambient temperature. Lyophilized protein is stable during transit.

Storage: Store lyophilized protein at -20°C to -80°C. Reconstituted protein should be aliquoted and stored at -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Protein Biology

Engagement of NCR3 by BAG6 also promotes myeloid dendritic cells (DC) maturation, both through killing DCs that did not acquire a mature phenotype, and inducing the release by NK cells of TNFA and IFNG which promote DC maturation

Subcellular Location

Cell membrane (Single-pass type I membrane protein)

Tissue Specificity

Selectively expressed by all resting and activated NK cells and weakly expressed in spleen

Subunit

Homodimer in the unliganted form (PubMed:21422170, PubMed:21444796). Interacts with CD3Z (PubMed:10562324, Ref.2). Interacts with and is activated by binding to NCR3LG1 (PubMed:19528259, PubMed:21422170, PubMed:21444796). Interacts with and is activated by binding to BAG6 (PubMed:18055229, PubMed:18852879). Interacts with and is inhibited by binding to LGALS3 (PubMed:25315772)
