Expression SystemMammalian cell
Expression Region22-604aa
SpeciesHomo sapiens (Human)
Tag InfoC-terminal 10xHis-tagged
Molecular weight67.1 kDa
ActivityMeasured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Anti-CCL17 recombinant antibody at 2 μg/mL can bind Human CCL17 protein. The EC50 is 2.403-2.741 ng/mL.
BufferLyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered 20 mM Tris-HCl, 0.5 M NaCl, 6% Trehalose, pH 8.0
StorageStore at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Alternative NamesNetrin-1; Epididymis tissue protein Li 131P

Function

Netrins control guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with either DCC or some UNC5 receptors will lead to axon attraction or repulsion, respectively. Binding to UNC5C might cause dissociation of UNC5C from polymerized TUBB3 in microtubules and thereby lead to increased microtubule dynamics and axon repulsion.

Protein Biology

Function

Netrins control guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with either DCC or some UNC5 receptors will lead to axon attraction or repulsion, respectively. Binding to UNC5C might cause dissociation of UNC5C from polymerized TUBB3 in microtubules and thereby lead to increased microtubule dynamics and axon repulsion (PubMed:28483977). Involved in dorsal root ganglion axon projection towards the spinal cord (PubMed:28483977). It also serves as a survival factor via its association with its receptors which prevent the initiation of apoptosis. Involved in tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis (PubMed:15343335)
